MY NEW ATTITUDE...

Nowadys my ideas have undergone a roller coaster style revolution and I have changed a lot owing to the multitude of books i read and the thoughts that crowd my mind. People may call it ATTITUDE... my mom calls it "adolescent mindset" and others feel it is PEER PRESSURE.

But I am feeling completely new... like that lady says in TITANIC "YOU SHINE UP LIKE A NEW PENNY" . But I've got to wait a lot to see whether this penny is worth....

The 3 mistakes in my life

I had a great oppurtunity to read " the three mistakes of my life" by chetan Bhagat. this story is about three guys Govind, Ish and Omi who start a cricket shop to find a living. Starting from religious politics to ego problems and natural disasters everything stand in their way to prosperity. The story is a very good and fast paced read indeed. I would say it is about a serious and dark way narrated in a fantastic style. the way indian boys think about indian girls is beautifully voiced via govind. I hate maths....i am not good at maths either....but the hero here is a maths genius :-( WHAT TO DO?

Well I love the way the author has balanced his views between religious politics and youth mindset.......a very good move indeed. A good cricket story indeed.....

I won't say what are all the three mistakes.........but the mistakes chosen are perfect (enough to regret a person for a lifetime)

The story is verrry verrrrrry fast paced and interesting. Enough to grip a person who reads it.

A NICE INDIAN FLAVORED NOVEL

Sweethearts for sale!

Love is blind - so goes a saying. But in the real practice, this blindness switchess more to a madness, self mockery and dependence.

Everyone can speak the language of love. But only a few can understand that.

Feb - 14 has now become more of a ritual than a real day for love when you meet your loved ones and reinforce your love and make them feel secure. People exchange gifts, talk over the phone and have food together. But the magic of love....? (sigh)

As far as I have seen, youngsters (especially collegietes), see it as a prestige issue to have a lover.....especially when it comes to having a pleasant looking person as their future lifepartners. Those who are not loved are being looked down upon as either lacking in Character / External beauty. Love cannot be forced.

I believe love is more about that internal beauty and that feeling of security (hum hai na!) rather than all-night phone calls and romantic messages. It is more about always having a person to rely on rather than spending all your money to get his phone recharged. It is more about patiently solving the troubles of the fight yesterday than cutting your finger in desperate sadnedd after a fight. It is more about "I will be for you always" rather than "I will die for you". It is more about understanding than emotional idiocy. It is more about practical mutual help than dramatic dialogues. It is more about being independent and also feeling confident that someone is there when we slip, rather than being under love-chained domination. It is more about holding your partner's hands when you walk on your path to success rather than following their path. It is more about moral support than physical "being-around". It is more about being yourslef with him/her rather than a valentine's day special treat. It is more about a hand that wipes off your tears rather than the one which brings you a flower. It is more about mutual confidence than doubt in the name of possessiveness. It is when your lover sends you out for a work with your friend who is a boy and not when he drops out an important work and accompanies you just because he doubts you. It is when you allow your lover to wear faded jeans just because he loves it eventhough you loathe jeans. It is when your lover understands when you have an exam and not fights when you don't return a call.

It is when he remains silent when you yell at the top of your voice eventhough it was you who was wrong. It is a feeling when you never feel lonely, unloved or deserted. There is someone out there thinking about your happiness. You feel better because you pray for the success of someone else. Finally, love is more about finding out that you were complete only after him/her than your entire life is for him/her.And, love is definitely not in those stupid cards and costly designer dress gifts.........it is in that feeling of well-being, security and Being loved. Love which comes when we are ourselves survives for a longer time than the one which springs when we act and pretend. A good lover is our reflection. A good love springs from deeper understanding and sensibility. Love has to be exchanged with love and care.

Ofcourse, sweethearts are never for sale.

a video

this is my maiden attempt to make a video. look...........
these photos are from my vikatan works.............

ANJATHEY

One of the best thrillers I've ever seen.

It is not everytime the director gets his second attempt right. This is one of such rare situations. i loved the story, the acting and the dialogue. Only two songs out of the three stand out. And a big wow and cheers for that cute (and menacing) prassanna as DAYA. He rocked in the movie with his evil looks and wig! He isss sssssssoooo sweet (come on this is not my maiden attempt to look like one of the girls from generation "x". i really mean it!)
well, the scores..............90%
*think 92 is the maximum i ever gave..2 marks go for the violence*

Polladhavan review

I got a chance to view the movie polladhavan. It was really fantastic............

I was thinking while viewing the movie .... oneline yengeyo ketta madhiri irukke....later i learnt that it was from BICYCLE THIEVES.

I am not a Dhanush fan and I usually try to avoid dhanush films...this is an exception. I saw the film for the debut director vetrimaaran. The movie was

realistic

natural

logical

(all typically not of tamil cinema's characters).

Rarely a hero says to the villain "I am not very strong. When I came to your house you could have killed me easily". That happens in polladhavan

The romance between the lead pair is so nice (WHen she phones him and amidst all chaos he replies calmly).

I loved the searching scenes

The villain troupe is also so nice...especially that lead gangster SELVA..his characterisation is extremely nice.

All have done well

FIRST TIME DHANUSH AND DIVYA HAVE ACTED.

only that remix song is nice..all others....not up to the mark

superb film..could have avoided that very bloody climax

stereotypic role for daniel balaji..BUT he has acted well

cinematography is excellent....natural lighting has been used

REALLY NICE GANGSTER MOVIE
whatever said and done the real hero is that BLACK PULSAR......

marks : 90%

Ode to the coffee

Has off to the person who invented coffee! To me, no other thing is as refreshing as a frothy cup of coffee. I remember those days just before entering the college life. My only thought was neither- "Will I have good friends?", nor - "Will the food be good?". It was "Will the coffee be good?". Well, it may sound as an exagerration , but it is true. I am so interested in coffee that I like even Coffee ads. There is nothing else so pleasurable than to have a cup of coffee while listening to either your good friend or your favourite music. What music is for my ears, coffee is for my palate. Look at this quote:

I believe humans get a lot done, not because we're smart, but because we have thumbs so we can make coffee. ~Flash Rosenberg

I don't like the word coffee-addict...it sounds as if it is wrong. I would rather prefer coffee-lover.

Nothing else can provide such a feast to the senses:

You hold the coffee mug in your hand-you sense that heat
You bring that coffee nearer- your olfactory senses bathe in the sweet aroma of coffee
You then look at the coffee- your eyes enjoy the golden brown color of the blend

Finally,as you have your first sip of coffee- that's when heaven comes to the earth and swirls on your tongue.
As you finish the last drop - A feeling of misssing your best friend will creep up in your mind.

Coffee smells like freshly ground heaven. ~Jessi Lane Adams
In Germany 4 o' clock is called cafe & kufu time - coffee and cake time.In India the Indian Coffee Houses became an icon of the worker's struggle. In Swedish culture, coffee plays an extremely important role as a social lubricant through a process known as fika, or a leisurely coffee break. I can never forget the day when I was truly surprised by the endless list of coffee varities in the menu board of a coffee house(wondering where? Well, it was inbetween England and France!yes!on board on a lovely ship!) These are some of the things I remember:
  1. Mocha Coffee
  2. Cappuchino
  3. Coffee Latte
  4. Espresso
  5. Irish coffee
  6. Chocolate coffee

Wow!That was great....I can never forget that wonderful low-cream coffee with a couple of coconut cookies and a croissant. I think I can end this with a note:

I have measured out my life with coffee spoons. ~T.S. Eliot

Some astounding animal facts

Deception Point

Read the book Deception Point by Dan Brown. Fantastic. I really loved the backdrop- Presidential elections of the USA. All the characters have been beautifully woven to gift a gripping, fast paced novel to the reader. I had 2 intuitions about the story, and both of them were right (dhoda). How could Dan get such secret facts? Great job! The plot is full of knots, and as each plot unfolds....I was starled, taken aback and wondestruck. A gud novel - information packed, patriotic-cum-scientific thriller.
RATING:
  • Plot: 5 stars
  • Humor: 3 stars
  • Characterisation: 4 stars
  • Flow :4 stars
  • Thrill: 5 stars
  • Langauage : 5 stars (for simplicity)
  • Narrative style: 4 stars

Kana Kaanum kalangal

My sister was a big fan of KKK. Now, me too....my mom, an adolescent counsellor, says that KKK portays teen emotions very well. All actors do their best...a welcome change...a comical yet logical serial inbetween "teargland-stimulating serials"(I cried for some scenes in KKK too...but those tears were just reminders of my school life) I want to go back to school life to enjoy it fully!

Mozhi review

I just finished watching Mozhi (at last). It was really fantastic. Such a positive film! Jyothika rocks! The concept itself was so fresh. All the people have contributed their best. That idea of prithviraj imagining a voice for Jo was spectacular. It really gave an idea about a persons's feelings when he knows his wife was differently abled. That proposal seen by Swarnamalya and Prakashraj was asaththal! In one scene, Prithvi plugs his ears with cotton and says "I want to understand Archana's world". I thought that scene will become the normal scene of Tamil cinema....the heroine blindfolds herself for the sake of the visually challenged hero. She stumbles. The hero comes...she explains why she did so. The hero smiles and the next moment they are in Switzerland, dancing for a duet song. So irritating! But that scene in Mozhi was very natural...Prithvi goes outside, sees that the world is so different (without any sound) and just comes back. Very normal.

The opening scene itself was very catchy. I did notice one thing...the opening frame was silent and the finishing scene too...this film is a silent success!
My marks for that movie:
  1. Story: 9/10
  2. Screenplay:10/10
  3. Acting: 9/10
  4. Handling of emotions:10/10
  5. Humor:10/10
  6. Logic:9/10
  7. Music:7.5/10

OVERALL : 92%

Varumaiyin Niram Sivappu

Yesterday I watched Varumaiyin Niram Sivappu....."Thala film". It was really nice. Thoiugh I have seen some scenes from the movie, I haven't seen it fully. A really great acting form the part of all the artists....be it Dilip, Pratap Pothan or the gorgeous SHRIDEVI. Happy to see that Kamal was a Bharathi fan in the film..felt so glad to hear the words of Bharathi in the revolutionary voice of Kamal. What a film! :-)

Where is the freedom of press?

I was very much worried after hearing that few of supporters just set fire to DHINAKARAN office. I am not a supporter of any of the political parties but I am really concerned about the press freedom in India. Indain constitution has granted us rights and freedom. We citizens have the right to perform our duties and at the same time we have the right to enjoy the freedom given to us. With the web growing wider and wider, the blogs are also multiplying and actually, in real sense, each blog is a magazine on its own...with its own press freedom. When people all over the world have the right to express their thoughts and feelings, how can the people in TamilNadu be grabbed of their rights?
Now I am taking a big Lens and searching for FREEDOM of press................
